Customize Totalcmd.inc file

Overview

Totalcmd.inc file contain all Total Commander internal commands. In many of Total Commander dialog box there is a dropdown list shows these commands, like toolbar configure dialog box and change start menu dialog box.

Usually searching for a specific command inside this dropdown list is difficult, but organizing these commands can make searching for a command more easily. Customize Totalcmd.inc dialog box gives you two ways for sorting commands in Totalcmd.inc file:

  1. Categorized
  2. Alphabetic

Tabs

  • Categorized tab: Use this tab to sort Totalcmd.inc commands according to your Total Commander Main Menu file structure, that is each menu commands will grouped together under a category named by this menu caption. All commands that aren't exist in the Main Menu will collected at the end of the Totalcmd.inc file.
  • Alphabetic tab: Use this tab to sort Totalcmd.inc commands alphabetically from A to Z according to its name.
  • As it is tab: Use this tab to change Totalcmd.inc commands description or Totalcmd.inc categories style. (Totalcmd.inc commands will not sorted at all.)

Options

  • Separator Style: here you can format the Totalcmd.inc file categories style.
  • Add separator for each submenu check this option to create a category for each submenu.
  • AlertIf you are using Total Commander 7.0 then don't change the default separator options, otherwise the new Total Commander 7.0 Choose command dialog box will not looks as expected!

  • Use menu caption for description check this option to replace the default command description with the menu caption.
  • Add Command Code to Description check this option to add the command code to its description.

Preview window

  • Preview window shows how commands in Totalcmd.inc file will look at Total Commander (version 6.5x and previous) dropdown list.
